I am by no means happy to have sickened someone who is on the front line of this issue and concede utterly that my attempts to express a view are awkward, to say the least. If it were not as badly written, is it possible I wonder, for any woman on the outside of this debate to offer a view that would not be expereinced as 'paternalistic'?Allison Ogden-Newtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04056527172582080767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7481456182314953565.post-31321714973029121532010-09-08T02:23:58.501+01:002010-09-08T02:23:58.501+01:00PS

Much of my work is about recruiting non-Muslim women to the cause as I see this not as a religious issue but as a feminist issue - you're not doing us any favours and I actually feel a bit sick that you consider the word hijab (through your hyphenisation) as an exotic and 'Other' concept. You would best help to advance this struggle by not being a part of it - thanks for your concern and please please stop here. Thanks, Jobeda AliJobeda Alihttp://www.cineforum.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
